The 3 Best Types of Meditation
There are many different types of meditation but the guides recommend the following 3 types of meditation best.

1) Breath meditation, also known as samatha meditation
Brief description: you focus on your breath entering and leaving your nostrils without trying to control its rhythm. Whenever your mind wanders off, bring your attention gently back to your breath.
Benefits:
i) you improve your ability to concentrate
ii) you cultivate patience
iii) you become more grounded
iv) you become more sensitive to your internal world, thus enhancing your intuition
2) Insight meditation, also known as vipassana meditation
Brief description: you observe all sensory inputs in a detached, neutral manner by putting simple labels on whatever that enters your conscious awareness e.g. "thinking, thinking", "hearing hearing", "feeling, feeling"
Benefits:
i) you become less reactive to everything, thus enabling you to be calmer and more discerning
ii) you grow wisdom as a result of being less attached to your thoughts and feelings
iii) you experience greater joy because of expanded inner peace
3) Loving kindness meditation, also known as metta meditation
Brief description: you repeat a few statements expressing loving kindness (eg "may you be well and happy) over and over again towards yourself, then to loved ones, strangers and finally enemies.
Benefits:
i) you are better able to override emotions such as anger, resentment and hatred
ii) your heart opens up so that you can give and receive more love
iii) you can neutralize toxic relationships because you are less triggered by other people
iv) your aura is strengthened and purified
v) your appearance is enhanced
Even if you find meditation a chore, know that this is the ONE best thing you can do for yourself, and you can start small, such as just meditating 10 minutes a day. Just set a daily alarm and commit to it... YOU CAN DO IT! ๐งโโ๏ธ๐งโโ๏ธ๐ง
